Question :
I have a light at the top of my stairs with a switch and the bottom and the top of the stairs. I want to be able to control the light from both switches and use x10. What equipment would I need and would I need additional wiring ?
Answer :
You can use X10-4206
This Scene Wall Switch can store up to 31 X10 command on each button.
That mean you can store , A1 , C1 , D3 , B5 on the button.
When you turn the button "ON", it will send out A1 ON , C1 ON , D1 ON , B5 ON
So this Scene Wall Switch can solve the two way switching problem.
For example :
At up-stair , you have one X10-2222 , Single Button Dimmer Wall Switch. And that wall Swith connect to one of the Light and assign the address as B6
At down-stair , install X10-4206 , assign one of button to send out B6.
So you can use two wall switch (Upstair and Downstair) for control same light.
Advantage :
1) No extra wire between that two wall switch
2) You can store up to 31 address for each button
Disadvantage :
1) X10-4206 need neutral connection.
