PLCBUS and Homevision by Web Master

One of UK customer make Homevision work with PLCBUS devices via PLCBUS-1141 RS232 Computer Interface.

 Following is his message :

Please see the sample macro’s in the attached HomeVision schedule’s…

I have tested it and it receives the Status Requests and Acknowledgments ok from both outside controllers and the internal HomeVision commands.   It should also update the HomeVision light level table ok. (It does on my controller!)

Would you mind testing it on your controller with more than one light unit if possible. (I could only test it with one light module unit) Can you please confirm its all working ok before we publish it to the relevant websites?

The only thing I would like to improve is:-  If a valid ON command is sent to the PLCBUS network I would like then to do a STATUS REQUEST to get the current light level to put in the HomeVision light level tracking table.  This version only shows a LIGHT ON indication for a ON command. However it will update the light level table with a STATUS REQUEST, BRIGHT, DIM or PRESET LEVEL command.

I tried to get it to do a status request after HomeVision sees a ON command on the PLCBUS network.  But the problem is that if the unit has a high FADE RATE SECONDS stored in the module. The STATUS REQUEST will have to be done after this time has elapsed or the light will still be ramping and the STATUS REQUEST will report an incorrect light level.  I have been experimenting with HomeVision timers, but I have not got it quite right yet.  (I know I will be able to figure it out and I am almost there.  When completed I will send over another schedule for you. “Sample 2”)

If you have an HomeVisionPro you will need to set the jumpers to be able to use the RECEIVE part :-

“For RS-232 mode, place a jumper between pins 6 and 7”

I have also included the “Ramp Rates.txt” file just in case that doesn’t load with the schedule. (If you need to load the .txt file go to Custom Lighting on the Configuration menu, then go to Ramp Rates tab, right click the empty box then select “read file” to save the ramp rate levels & times).

Download the sample schedule file in here .
